Self Mastery is a skill

Self mastery is key at all ages. Children, adults, etc! That’s truly why I love Montessori. It plays so hand in hand with my personal studies of metaphysics. In Montessori a key is working towards completion. To work towards self mastery. To have material that have the ability to be completed. Montessori believes in start to finish and also self correcting toys. • • It’s also such an important reminder to start small. For instance this is a three tier sorter toy. We started out with only one section at a time which allows him to master that without getting overstimulated or discouraged. • • I loved observing this. The first time he had each pieces flipped the wrong way, which meant they wouldn’t all fit which allowed him to self correct. • • Then as time went on and his concentration was focused he continued to work towards mastering this work. At this point in this video he has the bottom two pieces correct! I’m looking forward to continuing to watch him master this material.
